Student Parking Information

The Graduated License Law, section 545.424, which in part states: “a person under 18 years of age, during the 6- month period following issuance of a driver’s license, may not operate a motor vehicle with more than one passenger in the vehicle under the age of 21 years of age who is not a family member.”

State Senate Bill 55 prohibits juveniles from possessing cigarettes and other tobacco products. Children under the age of 18 who possess or buy cigarettes can be fined up to $500 and may be subject to having their driver’s licenses suspended. 

Parking is limited to qualified applicants. Freshmen are not eligible to park on campus. 

Application for parking will not be accepted unless all outstanding fees or fines have been cleared. 

• Includes: lost textbooks, library books or library fines, organizational fees/ uniforms, etc.
• Fees and fines assessed after the purchase of a sticker may result in suspended parking privileges until fees and dues are cleared. 
• Students who apply for parking during the school year and violate the school regulations may lose their parking privileges.
• Students who do not have a current driver’s license, proof of insurance, or registration sticker for their vehicle will lose parking privileges. 

Parking fee is $40 per school year.  

• Students who lose parking privileges for any reason are not eligible for a refund.
• Refunds will be on a case by case consideration with principal approval.

Security personnel will patrol the parking lot every day. Students are expected to identify themselves when asked and to cooperate with security at all times. 

If a student is assigned make-up hours for excessive absences the school reserves the right to revoke parking privileges.

West Fork High School is not liable for any damages sustained to vehicles parked on campus.  Any damages are the responsibility of the vehicle owner and/or their insurance provider.  

• When purchasing a parking permit, the student must: 
• provide proof of a valid driver’s license. LEARNER’S PERMITS NOT ACCEPTED.
• provide proof of liability insurance. The vehicle must be listed on insurance policy. 
• provide registration and license plate number
• meet the WFHS Driving Privilege Qualifications, which include the following:
  • Student must have earned enough credits to be on grade level (7 for Sophomores, 14 for Juniors, and 21 for Seniors) 
  • Student must have been in attendance for 90% of instruction time during the previous school year/semester  
  • Student must have earned (or be on track to earn) a College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) point (see counselor if you are not sure if you have met this requirement)
  • Student must have passed all End of Year (EOC) assessments taken at the time of application  
  • Student must have passed all classes for the previous grading period (Report Card 1, Report Card 2, Report Card 3, or Report Card 
  • Student must not have any discipline referrals in the previous nine week period 

The primary sticker will be issued for the parking area.

If you need to drive a different vehicle for a short period of time, you will need a valid Driver’s License, current insurance on that vehicle, and your sticker number to obtain a temporary permit. Temporary permits are issued only to students who already have a permanent sticker. 

Parking stickers are non-transferable. Students who attempt to trade or transfer parking stickers will have their privileges revoked.  

The parking sticker is to be permanently affixed on the lower driver’s side of the windshield. 

Replacement Permits: If your car is wrecked, sold or no longer in use please remove the old parking sticker and return it, along with a note from your parent when applying for a replacement sticker. 

1. New Caney ISD Police Department is authorized to issue tickets for campus parking and driving regulations. 
2. Student parking is limited to students who have paid the parking fee. 
3. Parking lot speed is 10 MPH
4. New Caney ISD Police Department demands that students exit their vehicles and the parking lot immediately upon arrival on campus. Students must have a pass from a principal to enter the parking lot during the day. Students are to exit the parking lot at the end of the day unless involved in extracurricular activities. 
5. Students who participate in approved work programs or early release programs must have their pass and identification available and must leave the parking lot immediately. 
6. Vehicles not authorized to park on campus or not parked in the assigned area may be “booted” or towed at the owner’s expense. Parking in unauthorized areas (fire zones, handicap, faculty, visitor) or parking on campus without a proper sticker may result in campus parking privileges being revoked and school discipline.
7. Parking is allowed in the green zone (band practice area) before school and until 3:05 pm. After 3:05 pm students will need to move their car into another area to park if they are staying on campus for any reason.   
8. Serious, or repeated violations of the Student Code of Conduct, (i.e. excessive tardies, truancy/contributing to truancy, failing to attend detention, campus parking violations, and possession/ use of tobacco products) may result in campus parking privileges being revoked. 
9. Misbehavior in the parking lot will not be tolerated. Violation of the student code of conduct, horseplay, or general unsafe driving may result in revocation of the parking privilege and school discipline. 
10. If a student must leave early from school, they must have a pass showing that they have been checked out through the front office.  The pass must be displayed to the Campus Safety Officer.  Students without a pass attempting to leave are subject to discipline as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
