Graduation Requirements
All students in NCISD participate in the Foundation High School Program, as instituted by Texas House Bill 5.
Graduation Requirements for this program include:
- English Language Arts (4 Credits)
- Mathematics (4 Credits)
- Science (4 Credits)
- Social Studies (4 Credits)
- Physical Education (1 Credit)
- Languages Other Than English (2 Credits)
- Fine Arts (1 Credit)
- Elective Credits (10 Credits)
Through elective credits, students will earn an endorsement, a coherent sequence of courses related to a career or field of study. Endorsements may be earned in the following areas.
- Arts & Humanities
- Business and Industry
- Public Service
- STEM
- Multidisciplinary Studies.
Students may graduate with a Distinguished Diploma by meeting all of the requirements of the Foundation High School Program, earning at least one endorsement and earn credit for Algebra II.
Students may also earn performance acknowledgments for meeting college readiness standards, completing bilingual/biliteracy requirements, earning industry certifications, passing AP exams and/or earning college credit through Dual Credit courses.
